North-east monsoon season
mostly ingoing current, start dive on the outer reef to
your left; stay in the upper part in the beginning, then
as sand beds start go deeper; the real entrance of the
channels starts after passing the third arena, where
you’ll find a big mushroom coral whit sweetlips, sabre
squirrelfish and groupers; the current is leading you
into channel, try to stay close to the reef as current
may drag you away
|
|
Safety:
advise the divers not to start their dive too deep,
because the reef flat comes not higher up than about 10
– 13 m |

Experience
Level:
not ideal for beginners, if dive shouldn’t be deeper
than 18 m
|
|
Features:
nice landscape with its three sand arenas, where garden
eels can be watched
|
|
Specialty:
at the edge of the terrace there are some overhangs,
between 30 and 37 whitetip reef sharks patrol at the
entrance of the channel with ingoing current; otherwise
often found on the sand bed sleeping
|
|
South-west monsoon season:
mostly outgoing current, start dive on the outer to your
left; as the channel itself is not very interesting, it
is better to stay on the outside in the arenas; make a
u-turn at entrance and swim back over the reef flat; if
the current at the outer reef is very strongly reef to
the right, it’s better to jump in the channel (depth
between 6 -10 m), drift along with the current and
continue dive to your right
