Depth:
5 - 40 m

Fish
Live:
more than average – big groups of jacks, hammer
heads, seargent fish and snappers,
whitetip reef sharks, on the tila often turtles,
many napoleons, eagle rays & mantas
|
|
Coral
Growth:
in the caves yellow, longs soft corals; at outer
reef slope huge gorgonians; on the tila
beautiful stone corals
|
|
North-east monsoon season
stay below the edge and have a look at the beautiful
caves with its yellow soft corals; cross the entrance
before the tila and stay at the edge as long as
possible; great variety of fish life in the open water;
as tila is not very long, don’t let go to the early with
the current into the channel; for a second dive choose
the east part, as it is not so deep
|
|
Safety:
watch your computer, as the wall very much invites for a
deep dive; try to avoid long decompression times |

Experience
Level:
not suitable for beginners
|
|
Features:
beautiful tila in the middle of the channel; at the
front of channel edge. Between 20 and 40 m, big
interesting caves
|
|
Specialty:
it’s means to be one of the best dive sites of the
Maldives; if you get the chance to make an early morning
dive, you’ll might find hammer heads
|
|
South-west monsoon season:
mostly outgoing current, start in the channel at the
very end of the tila; drift out of channel over the top
of tila and choose for one dive reef to the right; it’s
better to do a second dive on the east part, as these
caves are not as so deep as those on the west side

Photography: wide-angle lenses recommended
to take pictures of the caves with the yellow soft
